July 1 - I was getting ready to go home the 26 or June. We left for Home the 26 of June. We wanted to leave the 25th but we had to marry Ed Brusik & Blanch Wassner yet that evening. So we had to way a day. When we got home the folks took us out to Leslie's & then up to Minneapolis to Berbert, & in two weeks we got home. We had a good time. The trip was made by auto from Lansing to Minneapolis. Then when we got home we were busy catching up with the work & getting ready for the Council Meeting which we enjoyed very much. While there we visited at Dumont & sold our Saxon car. And when we got home Fred fixed up the Chevrolet car that burnt up for Cass Wasmer. Altogether it cost us $265 & we have practically a brand new car. Altogether we were very busy. I had a contest on in my S.S. class dividing the class into two parts with about 20 on each sided & the side that gained the largest attendance gained one point & the side that had the largest offering got one point and the side that had the most golden texts got one point. The side receiving the most points won for one Sunday and then I had two poster board cars and a set goal with each car moved a foot at a time & the car gaining the goal first won in the contest. The Sunday it reached the climax booth cars were tied just one stop before the goal so they worked very hard. There were 32 present in all & the offering was around $13.50 and there were about 20 golden texts. It was surely interesting they all worked so hard. They are to have a picnic very soon.
